7 - Macramé - available soon

Bottle holders and handbags coming soon.

Macramé is an ancient knot-tying technique, but the version we know today began with 13th-century Arabic weavers who knotted the loose ends of their textiles into beautiful patterns. The Moors later brought the craft to Spain, and from there it spread across Europe.

I used to make lots of macramé wall art in my twenties — back when I still had time, before the children :-)

Macramé has made a huge comeback in recent years, and this revival has expanded well beyond the classic wall hangings.

I find creating macramé pieces such a meditative process, and I hope you will enjoy my creations as much as I enjoy making them.
